Redwood Teen Challenge provides help to those struggling with life-controlling problems such as drugs and alcohol. Redwood Teen Challenge has two homes in the Humboldt area dedicated to assisting men and women who are on the road to recovery. Redwood Teen Challenge teaches people how to regain control of their lives and become productive citizens of our community. This program reaches out to those who would otherwise be living on the streets. Future generations are influenced positively, as the children of Teen Challenge benefit greatly from the changes and growth in their parents' lives.
Redwood Men's Center was started in 2005 in Arcata, Ca. where they had two staff and two students, working out of five units in an apartment complex. As the program began to grow, a group of local people saw the need for a permanent home. In 2009, and old drug infested hotel was purchased and converted into what is now the Straight Street Men's Center in Eureka, Ca.
Streams of Living Water Women’s Home in Eureka, Ca is a one year discipleship program for women 18 and over. Located in the heart of Humboldt County and surrounded by giant Redwoods, it has become a place of new beginnings for many women. In 2005 the program was turned over to Teen Challenge and has become a part of the Redwood Teen Challenge Corporation. Teen Challenge Women’s Home strives to provide an environment of love, acceptance and security while maintaining a strong, structured and disciplined daily routine.
